Mountain Huts :

These huts are excellent starting points for exploring Carnia’s natural beauty, enjoying panoramic hikes, and immersing oneself in the local culture. For more information or reservations, it’s recommended to contact the huts directly.

 

Rifugio Marinelli
It’s  at the foot of Monte Coglians, the highest peak of te Carnic Alps, at 2670 m. This hut is a must-visit for anyone exploring This part of the Alps. It offers exceptional views and access to trails suitable for both experienced hikers and beginners.

Casera Pramosio
Nestled near Timau among pastures and woods, this hut is perfect for families and those seeking relaxation in an unspoiled natural setting.

Rifugio Lambertenghi-Romanin
Strategically located near Lake Volaia, it’s an ideal starting point for cross-border hikes into Austria. It boasts spectacular views and a welcoming place to eat.

Rifugio Tolazzi
A starting point for many hikes on Monte Coglians. This hut is easily accessible and perfect for those looking for comfort and good food after a day outdoors.

La Wolayerseehütte (also known as Eduard Pichl Hütte)
Situated at 1,960 meters above sea level on the shores of the beautiful Lake Volaia, , this hut offers an authentic mountain experience. It is surrounded by towering peaks like Monte Coglians and Rauchkofel.It serves as a great starting point for hikes and climbs.

Rifugio Eimblatribm
Located in the Sauris Valley, this family-run hut features a stunning terrace overlooking   a forest, making it an ideal spot to enjoy local products.

Rifugio Fratelli De Gasperi
At 1,767 meters in the heart of Carnia, among the Pesarine Dolomites, this hut is perfect for hiking, climbing, and relaxation. It can be reached via CAI trail 201, a route suitable for children, and offers traditional cuisine and rustic-style rooms. It is a starting point for itineraries like the Alta Via dei Silenzi and the Ferrata dei 50. Open from June to September.

Malga Chiampizzulon
At 1,630 meters, it can be reached from Rigolato via CAI trail 228. It is surrounded by trails leading to Monte Tuglia and Monte Cimon, offering a relaxing and scenic spot for both short and challenging hikes.

Malga Tuglia
At approximately 1,596 meters, this alpine hut is accessible from Forni Avoltri or Cima Sappada via CAI trails. It is an excellent spot to enjoy the mountain landscape and taste local products.
